Game ft. Chris Brown - Pot of Gold
The music video 'Pot of Gold' by Chris Brown and The Game is set in three different places one is a room in which we see The Game and a child which we presume to be his son. In the music video we only see The Game in the room with the child for a couple of seconds and he begins to raps. The costumes worn are not anything that is out of the ordinary they wear normal clothing. I think that the reason for them having normal clothing is because they rap about their lives and how they feel about their lives therefore having normal clothing on enforcers how they feel that what they rap about is normal and the truth. In the music video The Game is throwing a basketball up and down and playing with his son the basketball is iconic in the music video because basketball is a massive part in The Games life as he talks about it a lot therefore making the basketball iconic. The lighting in the room is low key resulting in the mood becoming serious this could mean that The Game is encouraging his audience to understand how he feels about having a child during this The Games body language is relaxed and calm this would allow his audience feel the same as him due to his lyrics adding to his body language gives his audience a perspective of who he is and his ideals. Another setting in the music video is the ghetto which again revolves around The Game. This part of the music video is high key thus it is natural and bright during this we see The Game around allot of people which we presume to be The Games friends, in this part of the video there is not anything iconic but stereotypical of a ghetto and what a black American does during the day, this is hanging around people almost gangster like with people doing weights this is what the media and film portray a ghetto as. I think that this represents The Games life and what he grew up around. When the setting changes and The Game comes in to it his body language changes as he goes from a be loving father to an authoritative character. Finally in the music video the only time we hear or see Chris brown it at the third and final setting which is a studio in which he sings this setting is constantly seen throughout the video in this we only see a mid-shot of Chris Brown and The Game in the studio this setting allows the audience to understand the meaning behind his music video which is where he was and were he is now.
